The town of Razlog is situated in the Razlog valley at 825 m. above sea-level. About 13 000 people live in the town, which is 6 km to the north of most developed winter resort Bansko, 54 km south-easterly of Blagoevgrad and 154 km to the south of the capital city Sofia. Razlog has a wonderful lay of land – from the one side the hills of Pirin mountain are towering above and, from the other – the hills of Rila and Rhodopi mountain. Razlog came into being during the Second Bulgarian Kingdom. The town became administrative centre of Razlog valley as long ago as during the Turkish yoke. The development of tourism keeps abreast- ski, Golf, mountain, SPA. Razlog has developed as a centre of winter tourism in the 1990s and 2000s owing to its favorable position in the vicinity of three mountains.
